Abu Dhabi, July 16, 2018: The Abu Dhabi Smart Solutions and Services Authority (ADSSSA) announced the Smart Geospatial Contact Center, a first-of-its-kind government level project being implemented in cooperation with Esri. The announcement came at the end of its five-day participation in the International Esri User Conference 2018, which was held recently in San Diego, California. The event discussed the achievements of government entities and the prospects of cooperation between various international parties to exchange experiences and learn about the latest technologies and practices using the geographic information system (GIS).
The Smart Geospatial Contact Center is based on the use of machine learning technology, Big Data and Artificial Intelligence (AI), which employs state-of-the-art GIS technologies and mechanisms aimed at modernizing the operations of the Abu Dhabi Government Contact Centre. Under the partnership, the Abu Dhabi Government will be the first in the world to provide a comprehensive platform that serves the geospatial infrastructure that is able to integrate data from all government entities in Abu Dhabi, and handle a large amount of data accurately, thus contributing to provide services and projects efficiently.
H.E. Dr. Rauda Saeed Al Saadi, Director General of ADSSSA, highlighted the importance of the Smart Geospatial Contact Center project, which is the first of its kind government initiative in the world, and noted its role in supporting Abu Dhabi’s leadership in the field of GIS as well as in promoting the emirate’s contribution in digital transformation and technology around the world. She added: “We spare no effort to elevate the government services to achieve the highest international quality standards through the optimal use of technology. Our participation in the International Esri User Conference 2018 was marked by the announcement of the Smart Geospatial Contact Center project, through which we aim to strengthen our collaboration with Esri on GIS, the use of machine learning, Big Data tools and Artificial Intelligence, in addition to the use of GIS capabilities to support and modernize the operations of Abu Dhabi Government Contact Centre, thereby increasing the efficiency of the service and providing fast and proactive services that are meant to enrich customers’ experience and bring them happiness.”
Al Saadi said: “ADSSSA seeks to benefit from the important international conferences to know about the latest technologies and future trends in the field of providing government services, especially in relation to GIS, and entering into strategic partnerships with stakeholders in the field of smart technology, technological development and smart services systems.”
Jack Dangermond, Founder of Esri, lauded Abu Dhabi’s leading experience in using GIS to design the next generation of services based on the concept of integrated journeys. He said: “This new concept of services has empowered stakeholders that benefit from developing and accelerating the completion of business, services and decision-making in various sectors, contributing to elevate the efficiency of these institutions significantly in a short time”.
Commenting on the Smart Geospatial Contact Center project, Dangermond said: “We are very glad to cooperate with ADSSSA in this project, as we seek to make a quantum leap in GIS field and benefit from the ADSSSA’s experience in developing the rules and guidelines and their application mechanisms, in addition to providing enabling technologies and developing the infrastructure among others.”
During the conference, the participating delegations also took part in a series of meetings organised by the ADSSSA aimed at exchanging experiences & knowledge, discuss opportunities for joint cooperation and learn more about the latest developments in GIS. The participation of the Abu Dhabi Government in the conference also served as a strategic opportunity to highlight its achievements and continuing efforts in developing GIS as a key element in smart shift of government services in the emirate–demonstrating its leadership role in the digital transformation process, enhancing the business environment and enabling all government entities to provide comprehensive and integrated services that contribute to increasing interaction with customers and ensuring their satisfaction and happiness.
