Tata Play Binge: A Comprehensive Entertainment Hub
Tata Play and Amazon Prime have joined forces to offer a seamless experience for Tata Play DTH and Tata Play Binge users. This collaboration not only provides access to Prime Video content but also includes added benefits like same-day delivery, enhancing the overall customer experience. Harit Nagpal, Managing Director and CEO of Tata Play, highlighted that bundling apps is a new trend focused on convenience for users.
“We are working to expand this emerging category from its current small scale to something much more significant,” Nagpal shared in an exclusive interview with ET Online. “Right now, we’re focused on executing our tasks. This category is new, and subscription apps are just beginning to make an impact. These are paid apps, not in competition with free apps. Our goal with this aggregation is to promote the use of paid apps. Setting specific revenue goals might limit us at this stage,” he added.
Set-Top Box
With the Tata Play set-top box, users can enjoy live TV and over-the-top (OTT) content on a single device without the hassle of switching between multiple HDMI connections. Connected to the internet, this set-top box allows access to VOD, Tata Play’s seven-day catch-up series, and content from popular apps like SonyLIV, Aha, and Hotstar.
Tata Play Binge Packages
Tata Play Binge offers a variety of packages starting at Rs 199 per month. These packages include Prime Lite and a selection of favorite TV channels. Additionally, users can access over thirty popular OTT apps at different price points. For instance, users can choose to subscribe to six OTT apps for Rs 199 per month or get access to all 33 apps, including Prime Video, for Rs 349 per month. Tata Play Binge’s new pricing options also allow users to create custom OTT bundles tailored to their preferences.
Tata Play and Amazon Prime Collaboration
The partnership between Tata Play and Amazon Prime extends beyond video content to include shopping and shipping benefits. These perks include 5% cashback on Amazon Pay with an ICICI Bank credit card, free unlimited same-day delivery on over a million products, and free next-day delivery on over four million products. Prime members will also have early access to exclusive deals and offers.
Nagpal emphasized, “The addition of Prime Lite Membership makes Binge an even more attractive option, while Tata Play’s strong content distribution network will help Amazon Prime reach new audience segments.” Additionally, DTH subscribers can take advantage of an introductory offer on an annual subscription to Amazon Prime through Tata Play DTH. This offer includes access to Prime Video on five screens, free delivery, Amazon Music, Prime Reading, and Prime Gaming.
