Dubai, 12 December 2018: Making yet another important addition to its strategic partnerships with the world’s leading cities, Dubai Municipality has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the city of San Salvador, the capital of El Salvador seeking bilateral cooperation in various fields of common interest.
The MoU was signed by Dawood Al Hajiri, Director General of Dubai Municipality and Ernesto Mason García Prieto, Mayor of San Salvador. The meeting, held on the sidelines of the signing of the MoU, with the Mayor of San Salvador and the accompanying high-level delegation, discussed ways of enhancing cooperation and bilateral relations and exchanging experiences and best practices in various municipal areas.
“The strategic partnership with San Salvador reflects our commitment to open new channels of effective dialogue and constructive collaboration with the leading players in infrastructure services and business development, in a move, we trust, will be positively reflected on the municipal sector in Dubai and San Salvador,” said Al Hajiri.
“We look forward to the transfer of our recent knowledge and successful experiences in the fields of research, development, innovation, environmental services, health and human investment, which is the solid foundation of Dubai’s leadership that has proved that Dubai has been an active partner of global communities. It has also brought qualitative achievements to Dubai with the unlimited support of our wise leadership to push the path of economic diversification as “an important pillar for building a solid post-oil base,” he said, stressing that the MoU will open broad prospects for cooperation between the two cities.
The MoU was based on shared visions for the start of bilateral work and the culmination of the constructive steps taken by the two sides, based on openness and strong cooperation, which promoted the flourishing of cultural and commercial relations between the UAE and the country of El Salvador. The signing of the MoU is only a basic building block for future work. This was the result of a joint effort by both sides to exchange information and experiences and the care to deepen the bonds of friendship and cooperation that unite the two parties.
The MoU included the formalization of cooperation in various municipal fields through the promotion of business meetings and encouraging exchange of experiences in business development, as well as enabling investment opportunities.
It also included the development of municipal services through the promotion of bilateral projects aimed at improving the overall promotional projects, based on the integration of innovative practices previously agreed upon. The MoU also provided for the promotion of various administrative, technological, educational, developmental and management practices as well as the field of risk management and renewable energy, and the exchange of field visits to identify the latest developments in the global municipal areas.
It is worth mention that Dubai Municipality has succeeded in establishing a wide network of cooperation and friendship with many countries in Europe, Africa, America, Australia and Asia.
Through its network of international relations, the Municipality seeks to highlight the role of the UAE and the city of Dubai in particular and extend the bridges of friendship and cooperation with various countries of the world and the friendly countries, especially the cities which have economic, commercial, cultural, historical, tourism and common links with Dubai.
Dubai Municipality has crowned these relations with the signing of twinning agreements and memorandums of understanding with a number of Arab and international cities over the past years. The efforts of Dubai Municipality are in line with the vision of the wise leadership on the importance of weaving the best relations of cooperation and friendship with the different countries of the world. In order to achieve these objectives, the Municipality has developed a plan through which it has been able to enter into agreements and memorandums of understanding with a wide network of cities, which have had a significant impact on the promotion of the city of Dubai at all levels and public and private sectors.
